From professional trade’s people donating a portion of their time and expertise to first-time builders, to those who have never hammered a single nail, Habitat for Humanity depends on our volunteers. Volunteers make a key difference for Habitat for Humanity, enabling us to reduce costs substantially so that we can achieve our mission to build affordable housing and promote homeownership as a means to breaking the poverty cycle.
Volunteers on a Habitat for Humanity build site have the opportunity to learn new skills in a supportive and safe environment from more experienced builders. We also value the volunteers, who work behind the scenes, on committees, raising funds, advertising, supporting families and advocating in their own communities. To date, more than 30,000 people have volunteered with Habitat for Humanity in Canada and more than 500 in our community accumulated trough our builds, special events and the ReStore. Habitat for Humanity operates at 90% volunteer base.

In our efforts to divert as much from landfills as possible we accept and recycle the following materials:

• Electronics (cell phones, digital cameras, printer cartridges etc...

You can avoid the cost of returns to the manufacturer or the expense of landfill fees by donating those surplus items to the ReStore.

Renovating your house? Then visit our store first to see how we can save you money. Don't know what to do with the old stuff? Donate it to the ReStore. Call us and we'll arrange for a FREE PICK-UP for reusable items.
